The Assault Rifle is the Assault's primary weapon. A fast rate of fire, moderate damage, and moderately high accuracy makes the Assault Rifle an excellent all-around weapon greatly lending to the Assault's versatility. The rifle is most effective at close-to-medium range, as its damage drops greatly at longer ranges. The weapon is hitscan, meaning outside of lag and the random pattern of bullet fire causing them to not hit a target, the weapon will hit enemies at all ranges instantly.
The Assault Rifle's alternate fire is an "aim mode" that increases accuracy but slows down the Assault's movement.
Level 2 of the Assault passive skill grants the Assault Rifle a chance of firing Critical Shots, noted by a purple round instead of the usual yellow. This chance is increased again at Assault level 3.
